Over the past weekend we had intermittent outages on parts of the Burner platform that may have resulted in problems making and receiving calls or delays receiving text messages. If you experienced any of these issues, we are extremely sorry for the trouble this may have caused you. We know many of you rely on Burner for important parts of your business and personal lives -- as we all do on the Burner team -- and that outages of any kind are incredibly frustrating. Please know that we take the reliability of our system very seriously and that we are working intently to stop problems like this from occurring in the future.
Preventing outages is a top focus for our engineering team and we are putting significant resources into improving overall system stability. Specifically, we are:
- Refactoring the way our message retrieval system works to reduce latency and more reliably handle spikes in traffic
- Migrating our services to a more modular environment that provides greater redundancy and limits impact should pieces of the system encounter issues
- Increasing our system monitoring so that we can respond more rapidly to any problems that may occur on the system
- Additionally, we are adding headcount to our support team so that we can be much faster at responding to our customers when issues do arise
We’re listening on all platforms. Please continue to reach out to share your experiences and concerns. You can reach us at email@example.com with any feedback and if you’re experiencing any issues, you can write firstname.lastname@example.org. You can always check status of the app on status.burnerapp.com.
