DevOps Engineer

Burner is empowering people to take control over their primary channel of communication – the phone number. As DevOps Engineer, you will be a key member of a team building the next generation of mobile privacy tools. You will work closely with the platform team to upgrade and maintain existing infrastructure while helping to design and deploy the next generation of services to power the Burner mobile apps.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee deployment, monitoring, and upkeep of Burner's existing infrastructure

  • Define and build future CI/CD pipeline to speed up delivery of new features

  • Collaborate with platform engineering to stand up new scalable microservices

  • Create and maintain a production ready checklist for platform services

  • Enhance existing automated testing and direct future strategies

  • Manage on-call responsibilities among team members to insure full coverage

Skills + QualificationS:

  • Extensive experience working with configuration management and engineering for production web or mobile applications

  • Deep understanding of Git for version control including branching and merging strategies

  • Comfortable working with the AWS technology stack inclusive of EC2, RDS, S3, and Lambda

  • Fluent in CI/CD process and the tools and resources used (such as Jenkins, CircleCI, CloudBees)

  • Comfortable working in Linux environments and automating tasks using scripts (bash, Python, Ruby)

  • Experience working with cloud automation tools (Chef, Ansible, Puppet)

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience working with sbt (Scala build tool), Gradle (for Android builds), xcodebuild (iOS builds)

  • Experience with Scala, Java, Objective-C/Swift

  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes or Spark
