Prior to Ad Hoc Labs, Greg led strategy and business development for social and developer platforms at Yahoo!, where he worked on identity (OpenID, oAuth), Yahoo's Brickhouse incubator, and partnerships with Facebook, Google, Twitter, Zynga, and other industry leaders. Before Yahoo!, Greg was a key executive at several startups, including Away.com (sold to Orbitz) and Everyday Health. He began his career in book publishing and holds degrees from Penn and Oxford.
Will is a developer and a designer focusing on mobile experience, interaction, and product. Before Ad Hoc Labs, Will worked as the lead engineer and designer at Protohaus, prototyping mobile UI and UX for clients such as Samsung, Google, and Sony. Will was a Senior UX Researcher at Nokia, focused on Augmented Reality and next-generation mobile interactions. Will also founded Nodesnoop Labs, building iPhone apps for such clients as Sony, Disney, and Coke. He is a graduate of Brown University and USC's School of Cinema-Television, where he studied Interactive Media.
Jason has been the CEO of Sluice, and prior to that the CEO of the personal finance management company Wesabe. Jason was also the VP Marketing & Business Development at Asurion Asia Pacific, the Managing Director at Ogilvy & Mather Asia and the Director of Business Development at Excite@Home.
Sam is passionately interested in data science and software development. While working at Yahoo, Sam researched behavioral and financial insights relating to advertising and search. Sam previously led the tech team at AEGLive to launch concert and festival content worldwide. Sam has founded and led multiple teams at startups in Los Angeles, creating core technology and building succesful teams in AdTech, Mobile and Entertainment Tech. Sam holds an MS from USC Viterbi School of Engineering in Computer Science, with a specialization in Intelligent Robotics.
Alyssa is a Southern California native who came to us from coffee giants like Intelligentsia, Handsome Coffee and Blue Bottle. Specializing in the Danny Meyer style enlightened hospitality, she heads the Burner Support Team. Currently studying front end web development while honing project management skills, she’s redefining what it means to provide top notch technical support.
Kenny is the Director of Product Management at Burner. Previously, Kenny worked at Activision Blizzard on the Skylanders franchise developing and launching products for some of the most discerning users around, 6-12 year-old gamers. Kenny also worked in corporate strategy at Activision and spent the first part of his career as a management consultant, where he shipped many PowerPoint pages. He holds a BA from Princeton University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Scott is our Lead iOS Engineer and has more monitors than anyone in the office. He is the resident defender of human interface guidelines (the HIG). Before Burner, Scott was across the 405 at Pivotal Labs. He enjoys Vietnamese coffee and Game of Thrones.
David is a seasoned systems/devops engineer. As an undergraduate, he began managing graduate computing labs for the University of Minnesota CSci dept. David has been managing on-line operations for many years for the likes of Baylor College of Medicine, Verizon, Disney, ABC News, ABC, Oscars.com, Wall Street, as well as numerous internet startups in the Silicon Valley Bay Area. He has been waiting years for the Devops revolution to realize itself. David loves to write code, combining that with his expertise in systems engineering and cloud infrastructures. David is in a very happy place.
Emily is the Office Manager and recently graduated Carleton College with an English major. With a background in comedy and theater, she specializes in implementing culture and Type A organization with a slightly terrifying smile.
Xavier is Burner's resident Growth Geek and Innovation Broker. He doesn’t have problems, he has solutions. Once upon a time he graduated from UCSB with a BA in Political Science where he lived with and got his start managing the band IRATION. With a background of digital marketing in the music, touring, and festival world he brings a unique perspective to Ad Hoc Labs and Burner. He doesn’t own a car yet somehow lives in Los Angeles riding a bicycle. To achieve the impossible, it is precisely the unthinkable that must be thought.
Greg is a Platform Engineer at Burner. Previously, Greg worked for Nordstrom Rack developing their APIs for anonymous cart and guest checkout. Back in the day he graduated from UCLA with a BS in Computer Science. Go Bruins!
